Start your heist career the right way. Learn the basics of ROB IT from your first robbery to your first successful escape.
Understanding the Objective
In ROB IT, your goal is to infiltrate locations, steal valuable items, and escape to the getaway van before time runs out. You earn Gold Coins from general loot and Diamonds from rare finds.
Basic Controls
C = Crouch (move quietly), Sprint = Run faster but makes noise, Interact = Pick up items and open doors. Crouching behind furniture makes you nearly invisible to guards.
Your First Heist
Start with 'The House' map. It's the easiest location with minimal security. Focus on learning guard patrol patterns and practicing lockpicking before attempting harder maps.
Backpack Management
Your backpack has limited weight capacity. When your character starts 'sweating', return to the van to deposit loot. Multiple smaller trips are safer than one risky overloaded run.
Time Management
Each heist has a timer (usually 6 minutes). If you're not in the van when it leaves, you lose all backpack loot. Always keep an eye on the timer and plan your exit route early.
Master the art of planning and executing perfect heists. Learn to work with teammates and maximize your earnings.
Pre-Heist Planning
Before starting, discuss roles with your team. Assign someone to disable security, another to collect loot, and someone to watch for guards. Communication is key.
Security First
Always disable security cameras and systems BEFORE grabbing loot. Find the electrical box (usually in basements or utility rooms) and hack it to disable cameras temporarily.
Create Escape Routes
Open back doors, windows, and alternative exits as soon as you enter. This ensures you're never trapped if a guard blocks your main path.
Loot Prioritization
Target high-value items first: Diamonds (for class unlocks), then Gold Bars ($14k), then Mythical Gems ($8k+). Leave low-value heavy items like washing machines unless you have spare capacity.
Van Coordination
Designate van trip times. When one person deposits, others should continue looting. Stagger your trips to maximize efficiency and coverage.
Learn how to deal with guards and police when stealth fails. Sometimes fighting back is your best option.
When to Fight
Combat should be a last resort but sometimes it's necessary. If a guard corners you with no escape route, fighting back gives you a window to flee.
Melee Combat
Use the punch button to strike guards. Multiple hits will temporarily knock them down for about 30 seconds - enough time to escape or complete your objective.
Stone Attacks
Stones can knock out guards from a distance. They're limited, so use them strategically - either for ranged takedowns or as distractions.
Team Takedowns
With teammates, you can coordinate attacks. One person distracts while another attacks from behind. This is more reliable than solo combat.
After Combat
Knocked out guards WILL recover after ~30 seconds. Don't stick around - complete your objective and move to a different area or escape entirely.
Survive the ultimate challenge. Guards are faster, smarter, and more deadly. Only the best thieves survive Impossible mode.
What Changes
Guards move MUCH faster than your walking speed, damage is significantly increased, maps are darker, and AI is more aggressive in investigation.
The Sprint Rule
If spotted on Impossible, you MUST sprint. Walking away will get you caught every time. Sprint to cover or a vent immediately.
Power Box Priority
Maps often start with power out on Impossible, making navigation treacherous. Memorize the electrical box location and navigate there in darkness immediately.
High-Value Only
Don't waste time on anything worth less than $5,000. Go straight for T-Rex ($50k), Gold Bars ($14k), or Diamonds. Maximize profit before the timer runs out.
Frequent Deposits
On Impossible, death means losing all un-deposited loot. Make more frequent van trips even with smaller hauls to secure your earnings.
Maximize your earnings with efficient loot management. Learn what to grab and what to leave behind.
Value vs Weight
Always consider the value-to-weight ratio. Gold Bars ($14k, Heavy) are worth more than Washing Machines ($1k, Very Heavy). Prioritize efficiently.
Diamond Priority
ALWAYS pick up Diamonds regardless of weight concerns. They're used to unlock classes which provide permanent gameplay advantages.
The Sweating Rule
When your character starts sweating, you're near capacity. At this point, only grab lightweight high-value items or return to the van.
Know Your Limits
Without backpack upgrades, you cannot carry items like the T-Rex Fossil. Know what your current capacity allows and plan accordingly.
Map-Specific Targets
Bank: Gold Bars > Money Bags. Museum: T-Rex > Artifacts. Mansion: Diamonds > Electronics. Know the priority targets for each location.
Complete heists in record time with optimized routes and techniques. For players who want to challenge themselves.
Route Planning
Study map layouts and create optimal paths. Know exactly where high-value items spawn and the fastest route between them.
Skip Security
In speedruns, sometimes it's faster to risk detection than spend time disabling security. Know when to be cautious and when to sprint through.
Single Target Runs
For ultimate speed, focus on ONE high-value target (like the T-Rex) and ignore everything else. Get in, grab it, get out.
Tool Optimization
Upgraded lockpicks save precious seconds. The Magnet tool lets you grab items from distance without stopping. Invest in speed-enhancing tools.
Scout Class Advantage
The Scout class with 25% movement speed bonus is ideal for speedruns. Combined with sprint management, you can complete heists significantly faster.
